Place a capo on the 1st fret however, and now a C chord sounds like a C# chord. Place a capo on 2nd fret and your C chord sounds like a D chord. Move the capo to 3rd fret and your C chord sounds like an Eb chord. ok so when a song calls for the capo to be put on the first fret, say, do the rest of the frets stay the same? or since the capo is on the first fret, does the 2nd fret now become the first fret? if it doesnt effect the other frets then what if you need to play a chord that involves the first fret? i guess you dont have to worry about it because the first fret is already taken care of by the capo.
